wild turkey blues...

hi y'all - imagine . . . riding down a country road around 8am on Sunday morning . . . chatting and taking in the gorgeous scene of red, yellow & green, and WHAM! out of nowhere there's a flock of wild turkeys . . . who were probably just minding their own business, too, when here we come. it upset one of them so much that it flew up from a dead stop and knocked out my driver's side mirror. can you imagine how difficult it is to drive safely with no side mirror. well, i've been trying 'cause i had to leave the 'country' and go to town in search of a new mirror...cost aside (ouch)...it was quite an experience.
oh yeah, the serviceman asked why we didn't stop and pick up the wild turkey? i don't know, but we didn't even look back (hope it was okay). we were headed to Sunday School and i guess we wanted to practice keeping peace in our hearts even under upsetting circumstances. did it work? don't know . . . but the Sunday School lesson was the Beatitudes--'Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.' Matthew 5:9 blessings! :jb
